I’ve written article about this (eposom salts alone) a wee while ago – the full text is over at altdirt.
Bottom line ( dont do this in summer ) – great recovery boost which helps reduce soreness.
I like to add some decent lavender oil in as well.

Epsom salts

  1. Ease stress and improve sleep and concentration
  1. Help muscles and nerves function properly
  1. Regulate the activity of over 300 enzymes
  1. Reduce cramping
  1. Improve oxygen utilization

Magnesium is seen as an aid in helping to prevent heart disease and strokes by lowering blood pressure, protecting the elasticity of arteries, preventing blood clots and reducing the risk of sudden heart attack deaths.

For the athlete, Magnesium chelates calcium out of scar tissue build up (helping to optimise healing).
